The Evoshield Canes MA 17u Prospects defeated ASBA Select 17u 5-1 @ ODU today. 2013 RHP Corey Gantz did a little bit of everything today as he had 2 hits and pitched a complete game. Gantz has a smooth left-handed swing that stays on plane and makes him a high contact hitter who puts the barrel of the bat on the ball consistently to all fields. On the bump he sat between 82-85 topping out at 86 with plus command and a 70 mph breaking ball.

The Virginia Cardinals defeated All-Star Baseball Academy 17u showcase 5-4 on the strength of 2014 VT commit Tyler Fitzgerald scoring all the way from second on a push bunt to the 3rd baseman in the bottom of the 5th. Fitzgerald has game-changing speed who stole second both times he was in today.

For ASBA RHP Isaac Taylor kept the Cardinals bats very quiet through his 2 innings of work with an 86-88 mph fastball and a hard breaking hammer that topped out at 80.

The Taconic Rangers defeated Savage Green Turtle baseball today by a score of 9-3 in the 1030 am contest at ODU.

RHP/2B Zack Short did a little of everything For Taconic on the day adding 2 hits to his 3 innings of relief on the bump. Short showed a quick arm circle on his 84-88 mph fastball and showed a good mid 70s breaking ball.
