Stiles had decommitted from Maryland after the depature of Head Coach Erik Bakich but has now recommitted to the new regime of John Szefc. 2013 INF Alex Lewis (Lake Braddock, VA) has verbally committed to Longwood. Alex is a 3B primarily who has gap to gap power and projects to be a middle of the order hitter. Alex plays for the Virginia Shamrocks/Barnstormers.

Farley was a key component in Calvert Hall’s run to the MIAA title this spring. Farley plays his showcase baseball for Diamond Pros.

2013 RHP and James M. Bennett (MD) product Canaan Cropper has made a verbal commitment to the University of South Carolina.

Cropper is a very talented 2013 pitcher who commands a low 90s fastball. He was also the winning pitcher for Bennett in the MD 3A State title game.

Campbell University gained verbal commitments from 2 pitchers in their-Atlantic Area that both play for the Evishield Canes North 17u team.

2013 Andrew Witzcak (Calvert Hall, MD) is a 6’4 lefty who sits in the mid-80s with plus feel for a change-up and a good sweeping breaking ball.

The Camels also gained a commitment from hard-throwing righty Tyler Aiken (Sussex Central, DE). Aiken has been up to 90 and commands a sharp breaking slider.

2013 LHP Joe Burris (Albemarle, VA) has verbally commuted to Virginia Tech. Burris is a mid-80s lefty with food feel for a change-up. Burris plays his showcase ball for the NVTBL Stars.

UNC grabbed another LHP commitment from the Commonwealth of VA when 2013 Lake Braddock product Thomas Rodgers decommitted from Georgia and promptly verbally committed to the Tar Heels. Rogers was the winning pitcher in Lake Braddock’s state championship victory and plays his showcase baseball for the Evoshield Canes program.

University of Virginia gained a commitment from big-time RHP prospect Jack Roberts (James River, VA). Roberts is a big strong RHP who throws in the low 90 off the bump with lots more in the tank. Roberts plays his showcase ball for the Richmond Braves.

Virginia Tech scooped up two verbal commitments this past weekend in form of INF Garrett Hudson (Sussex Central, DE) and LHP Mack Krupp (Colonial Heights, VA).

Hudson is a smooth fielding middle infielder who shows a strong arm and power potential at the plate. Hudson also reaches the upper 80s on the mound. Garrett plays his showcase ball for the Evoshield Canes North 17u team.

Krupp is a mid-80s LHP who throws from a low 3/4 arm slot and who’s breaking ball has the making of being a superior out pitch at the next level. Krupp plays his showcase ball for the VA Cardinals.

Cape Henry Collegiate OF Tyler Ramirez has verbaled to UNC. Ramirez is a lefty handed hitter who shows great gap potential and plus foot speed. Ramirez plays his showcase baseball for the Tidewater Orioles

2013 LHP and Nansemond River product Zach Rice has verbally committed to UNC. Rice is a tall, lean lefty who has been as high as 90 this spring and owns a sharp left-handed breaking ball. Rice plays his showcase ball for the Evoshield Canes.

RHP Alec Grosser (TC Williams, VA) has verbally committed to George Mason. Grosser has an electric arm producing high 80s fastballs and a projectable frame that says he isn’t finished. Grosser plays his showcase ball for the Prospect Stars.

Mills Godwin RHP Aaron McGarrityhas given his verbal commitment to Virginia Tech. McGarrity has a high 80s fastball and a nasty slider. With a lean 6’2 frame we see a ton of untapped potential in his arm. McGarrity plays his summer and fall baseball for the Evoshield Canes 17u program.

2013 C and Lake Braddock HS product Garrett Driscoll has verbally committed to the Patriots of George Mason University. Garrett is a strong defensive cathcer with power potential from the right side. Garrett plays his showcase ball for the Tidewater Orioles.

Also, LHP/1B Jayme Murray from West Potomac HS has given his verbal commitment to GMU. Murray is a two-way prospect with power from the left side of the plate and the ability to keep hitters off balance on the mound with a 3 pitch mix and a low-80s fastball.
