What is the biggest stage you have ever played on, and why do you feel it was the biggest?
I believe that the biggest stage I ever played on was at the National High School Invitational because it was a great opportunity for me to see and face some of the top players in the country.
In making your college decision what are going to be the 5 biggest factors and why? What schools are you considering right now?
The coaches are very important to me because that is who I will be around most during my years in college and who will assist me through my baseball career. I would like to attend a top university with a wide variety of majors in the math and science fields. I need to be certain that I enjoy the immediate environment both on and off campus, as well as be assured that the part of the country that I am in offers a lot of opportunity in support of my studies.
If you were calling the shots and you had to win a big game who would get the ball on the mound, and why?
I would give the ball to Chris Sale. He is a tall, lanky lefty that many people aren’t used to seeing. He knows how to dominate the strike zone with his off-speed. He also has abundant confidence and carries himself well.
Who has made the biggest impact on your baseball career to date, and why?
Hans Crouse, RHP from Dana Point CA, has made the biggest impact on my baseball career to date. He is an excellent pitcher, and a great role model. He approaches all of his goals with a plan to achieve them.
What kind of a team do you think your High School Team will be this spring? How far do you think you can go, and why?
This year we will have a strong team. We are heavy with upperclassmen. I believe that we will hang our hat on our pitching and defense as that is our strong suit. I believe that our team will go far in the state playoffs.
Who is the best player you have ever played with to date?
Andrew Papp (P) Clemson, Jack Conley (C) NC State and Dillon Cooper (SS) NC State
What kind of things have you done this off season to prepare for this upcoming season Spring/Summer/Fall? What are some of your weaknesses, and strengths you have worked on and how?
I have lifted and conditioned throughout the off season at a baseball training facility. I completed a throwing program to keep my arm in shape building up to the season. Weaknesses that I worked on were my curveball and speed. Strengths that I worked on were my change-ups, pick offs and holding runners.
What are you looking forward to most this year in the upcoming school/travel seasons and why?
In high school we are ready to win the conference and a state championship. In travel ball, I am preparing to give my team the best opportunities to win ball games and win tournaments.
If you had a day away from the baseball field what would you go do for fun?
In addition to working out at my training center, you can usually find me boating with my friends and family at the local lakes, at the beach, or outdoors in general.
Who is your pick to win the CWS this year? Why do you think this team can run the tables in Omaha?
Vanderbilt will win the CWS because they’re a very successful program that has had a lot of success in the past. They have brought together a strong team of players that can dominate.
