Tuesday night’s battle ended in a 4-3 win for the Lake Braddock Bruins at home against the Spartans of West Springfield.
Lake Braddock struck first with a pair of runs in the bottom of the 1st, the first run coming from a past ball, then with the bases loaded Jack Darcy tallied another run with an RBI single that squeaked past the second baseman. West Springfield manufactured a run in the second, due to an error that lead to a sac bunt by David Giorgis. Braddock scratched another run in the bottom half of the 2nd, by compliments of an error making the score 3-1. In the bottom of the 3rd Jack Darcy smoked a ball in the 4 hole who would eventually be brought in on a sac fly from Peter Bushman, making it 4-1. West Springfield would be held to just 2 hits thru 6 innings due to a great pitching performance from Conner Glenn combined with Lyle Miller-Green. Things got interesting in the 7th when Miller-Green allowed a base-runner that would be driven in by Jared Lyons who doubled off the left-center field wall. West Springfield plated one more run in the 7th before Rojo Prarie closed the door for the Bruins in the 4-3 win. Lots of talent floated around but standouts include:
