On Wednesday I tracked to the western part of Virginia to see a talented Liberty Christian squad take on a solid EC Glass team at City Stadium in Lynchburg. With a handful of D1 guys on the LCA roster it was a must see game for me. The scoring started in the 2nd inning for LCA when uncommitted 2017 Hunter Johnson followed a Pearce Howard (2017 uncommitted) deep 2B to dead CF with a RBI single to RCF. In the 4th inning after an error from LCA EC Glass loaded up the bases with no outs. LCA starter Grant Johnson limited the damage to just 2 runs which gave Glass a 2-1 lead after four complete. In the 5th inning 2019 uncommitted OF Emmanuel Johnson drew a 2 out walk and stole second. With a full count 2 outs 2018 USC commit Kyle Horton drove a hanging breaking ball to LCF to score Johnson to tie the game up at 2 all. In the 6th inning with the bases loaded 2020 uncommitted MIF Quade Tomlin drew a bases loaded walk to put LCA up 3-2. LCA added insurance in the 7th inning with a big 2 out 2 RBI single off the bat of Hunter Johnson to extend the LCA lead to 5-2. Horton then took the mound for LCA in the bottom half of the 7th to close out the game and gave LCA the 5-2 win. Below is my scouts take on top prospects from LCA.
