Maryland Baseball Club 16U Team Preview

–Top Position Players:

Jarrett Weglarz – SS/P Outstanding range, defensive ability, and strong arm. Excellent left handed bat. Line drive hitter with power, can hit to all fields. Fastball is mid to upper 80's, good slider and excellent change up. Perfect Game 2018 preseason honorable mention. 2020 grad

Gabe Dermott – C/P Above average defensive skills behind the plate, big arm 1.9 pop time. Strong right handed line drive hitter with power. Closer, fastball hit 87 in Atlanta Georgia in July. Perfect game 2018 preseason honorable mention. 2019 grad

Jimmy Yunker – MIF Excellent range and defensive skills, quick hands/ quick feet. Line drive hitter who can hit to all fields. 2019 grad

Mike Newsome – 1B/P/RF Leads all Maryland Class 1A schools in batting average, OBP, OPS, Slugging %, doubles, triples, RBI'S and hits. Line drive left handed hitter with power. A quality left handed pitcher, fastball mid 80's. 2019 grad

Jarrett Weglarz – 6'3″ 175 lbs. Strong arm, mid to upper 80's fastball, good slider and excellent change up. Currently has a 1.27 era with his high school team. 2020 grad

Cody Brick – 6'3″ 220 lbs. Big arm, mid to upper 80's fastball, quality curve, and change up. currently has a 2,35 era with his high school team. 2019 grad

Alex Jones – 5'11” 180 lbs – live arm, mid 80's fastball and excellent curve.

Mike Newsome – 5'11” 185 lbs. strong left handed arm, lots of movement on mid 80's fastball, good curve.
