PATRIOT COMES FROM BEHIND TO WIN ON SENIOR NIGHT

On Tuesday evening I traveled to Patriot High School to see them in conference action against a strong Battlefield squad. George Mason recruit James Price got the start for Patriot while his counterpart was sophomore Harrison Whitt. The scoring started in this one when recent ECU commit Zach Agnos singled back up the middle in the top half of the 1st and eventually came around to score. The scoring continued for Battlefield with homeruns off the bats of Jake Michna and Tyler Solomon in the 3rd making it 3-0 in favor of Battlefield. In the 4th Whitt struggled with commanding the zone and Patriot loaded up the bases with no outs. A Battlefield throwing error allowed 2 runs to score for Patriot in the 4th. Patriot's Will Heltibridle kept the rally going in the 4th with a RBI double to LF to tie the game at 3. In the 5th Patriot pushed two more runs across with a RBI triple from Davis and Elkins recruit Chase Degrood followed up by a RBI single to RF by Brian Rall. After 5 innings in the books it was Patriot 5 Battlefield 3. Battlefield responded in the 6th with a RBI double off the bat of VMI recruit Brent Boggs to cut the Patriot lead to 5-4. Patriot held on to that lead and the game ended in a 5-4 Patriot win. Below is my take on a few top prospects from both teams.
