On Tuesday evening I headed north to check in on 2018 Virginia Tech commit Stephen Pelli and St. Marys take on Spalding. Pelli's outing was short on Tuesday (only 3 innings) as his didn't have his best stuff. The scoring started for Spalding in the 2nd inning after a couple St. Marys errors, walks  and a couple big hits from the Spalding lineup. After 2 complete it was Spalding 2 St. Marys 0. In the 3rd Pellli struggled a bit with command and Spalding pushed another across to extend their lead to 3-0. Spalding added 2 more runs in the 4th to push the lead to 5-0. In the bottom half of the 4th St. Marys cut into the lead to make it a 5-1 ball game. A big 5th for St. Marys cut the Spalding lead to 5-4. Spalding held on to that 5-4 lead the next two innings to win the game 5-4. Below is my take on a handful of top prospects from the game.
