When two powerhouse programs square off in conference match up it is a must see. That was the case with a big time matchup between Dematha (MD) and Paul VI (VA). 2019 Duke commit Thomas Keehn got the start for Dematha while 2018 Georgetown recruit Jack Weeks got the start for Paul VI. In the top of the first after a single by Tyler Casagrande followed by an error and a single to LF by Will Salva Paul VI jumped out to a 1-0 lead. A safety squeeze and a deep shot to LF by Connor Baine put Paul VI up 3-0 after the top of the first. In the bottom half of the first, Thomas Keehn and Trendon Craig singled and Dematha pushed one across to cut into the lead. That was all the scoring for Dematha as Paul VI starter Jack Weeks kept the Dematha hitters in check. In the 5th Baine drew a bases loaded walk followed by a sac fly to extend the Paul VI lead to 5-1. The game ended in a 5-1 win for Paul VI. Below is my scouts take on a few prospects for each team.
